what were business practices like in the late 1800s and early 1900s? Businesses became less corrupt as the government began to place stricter regulations on uncontrolled growth. Consolidated corporations gained traction and began to squeeze out smaller businesses and individuals. Increased competition among businesses helped to boost the economy and improve the financial situation of all citizens.
