All of the early organizers of the Society were slaveowners, who hoped thereby to strengthen the institution of slavery, according to the annual reports of the Society. So i would have to go with D as the answer.

what @Gregory0321 said slave owners started it hoping that they could get a better trade going with slavery and strengthening the law and the amendment of slavery until the 1800's when Lincoln made the emancipation proclamation which gave slaves the right to freedom and the power of law. if it wasn't for Abraham Lincoln we wouldn't be free!!
