Given: Line AD diameter of Circle P. If m Angle 1 = 40°, then m Arch AB = a) 20 b) 40 c) 80

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The answer I put last time was 80

OpenStudy (ybarrap):

The Arch AB is spanned by the same angle as Angle 1, so they should be the same

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I thought that an angle is half the measure of the intercepted arch. So it's different for this?

OpenStudy (ybarrap):

You are thinking about the inscribed angle theorem |dw:1435588031154:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh yeah. I've just been doing so much of that lately that I'm unknowingly applying it to everything. Lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks for the link btw

OpenStudy (ybarrap):

Sometimes just need to take a breather and just enjoy the learning and don't worry so much about getting it right all the time. :-)

OpenStudy (ybarrap):

You're welcome

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So the answer is 40?

OpenStudy (ybarrap):

Yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks. You're a big help

OpenStudy (ybarrap):

BTW, earlier I wrote "Interior" Angle Theorem, I meant "Inscribed" Angle Theorem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh. Lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I didn't even notice

OpenStudy (ybarrap):

Because I'm sure you knew what I meant -- good example of learning versus getting it right all the time.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah. Totally true

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh and I have another one. Could you help me with that to?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Never mind
