Which is an example of why the process of photosynthesis is important to life on Earth? Grass uses photosynthesis to produce glucose, which is used within the grass for growth. Fungi use photosynthesis to decompose dead and decaying plant matter. Cold-blooded animals use photosynthesis to convert sunlight into energy for cell functions. Green plants use photosynthesis to remove oxygen gas from the atmosphere and replenish the earth’s carbon dioxide.

photo means light synthesis means to produce or make use of Many life on earth as we know it, depend on plants (autotrophs). Even if you do not eat plants, the other animals that you eat, depend on other animals that eat plants. Plants depend on light energy as one of the key ingredients to produce food for itself and eventually those that depended on it.
