fan&medal asap(: Which unit rate is the lowest price per ounce? Choice A: 30 ounces of chocolate chips for $2.49 Choice B: 40 ounces of chocolate chips for $3.32 if you could explain it that would be great haha (pretest)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the unit rate is the price of a single unit of whatever is being sold. they're telling you the unit is price per ounce, you have to simplify the fractions \(A:\dfrac{$2.49}{30oz}\\vs.\\B:\dfrac{$3.32}{40oz}\)

ok your looking for the lowest price for each ounce. ok heres what to think ..you pay $2.49 for 30 ounces ....then your paying $3.32 for 40 ounces ...so ur finding the lowest price ..what looks like the lowest price ? it would be A cause you are paying less for less ounces and B is just paying more to get more so ur answer is A

they're the same unit rate
