#16 Use a protractor and a ruler to draw a quadrilatreral with two angles of 120 degrees and 3 congruent sides. Name the shape you have created. WILL GIVE A MEDAL!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Trapezoid? I can't test this right now but thats my best answer right now

OpenStudy (anonymous):

does it have to be exactly 3 congruent sides?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay then nevermind that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i thought it was a parrelogram.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that would need 2 sets of congruent sides i believe

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well actually

|dw:1435635904028:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think it could be a trapezoid

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ye

OpenStudy (anonymous):

good job both of you guys

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Now draw the 4th side. |dw:1435636042742:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

theres a few ways it could be a trapezoid

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

It's an isosceles trapezoid.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

fourth side? Isn't that all you do?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats probably the best and simplest it can get

OpenStudy (anonymous):

an isosceles trapezoid would be correct, yes. that's the only one i've been able to get

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

In this case, it's a parallelogram, and more specifically a rhombus, but now all sides are congruent, not just 3. |dw:1435636107123:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats what I got originally. but i thought i t was wrong.

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

If three congruent sides means exactly three congruent sides (not at least three congruent sides), then it must be an isosceles trapezoid.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh ok.

Thanks!!
