(Help me) I think I can punctuate with a period cause it's not like, (please help me) where I would use a exclamatory. am I correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you use please, then that means you are being polite so you wouldn't use exclamation. However, if you just say help me, then it would sound most normal to use period according to the rules of the standard English. Happy learning

Excuse me in the second case where you just say help me you'd be using an exclamation as opposed to the first example.
