Can someone please help me understand how to do this? Read the passage from “The Caged Bird.” The free bird thinks of another breeze and the trade winds soft through the sighing trees and the fat worms waiting on a dawn bright lawn and he names the sky his own. What are the connotative meanings of sighing, as used in the poem? Check all that apply. A. longing B. sadness C. relaxation D. exhaling E. peacefulness F. breathing

OpenStudy (sepeario):

this is quite a difficult one actually. it is a literary and metaphorical implication meaning it shouldn't be D and F, as they are both literally implied. (don't get the words literally and literary confused)

OpenStudy (sepeario):

i think the rest are all correct.
