What is the solution to this equation? 3x - 3 = 15 A. x = 6 B. x = 36 C. x = 54 D. x = 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do you think?

OpenStudy (sloppycanada):

Remove 3 from one side of the equation. |dw:1435765198398:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A. dude

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3x-3=15. You add 3 to each side. that should give you 3x=18. Then you divide each side by 3 and that should give you x=6. So the answer is A.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is not D.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

We are subtracting

OpenStudy (jenma):

Its D.

OpenStudy (sloppycanada):

We're not supposed to give people answers... we're supposed to walk them to what they're supposed to get...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i just wanted to know what it is but i agree with you sloppycanada

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I did walk them through it. But it also gave the answer. I taught them how to do it,

OpenStudy (jenma):

ohh yes! it's A :D lol

OpenStudy (barrelracer17):

Answer is x=6

OpenStudy (barrelracer17):

Because what you do is move the 3 over to the 15 to leave 3x by itself then you do 15+3=18 then divide the 3x to 18
