FAN AND MEDAL!!! For the following system, if you isolated x in the first equation to use the Substitution Method, what expression would you substitute into the second equation? -x - 2y = -4 3x + y = 12 -2y - 4 2y - 4 2y + 4 -2y + 4

Are those the answer choices?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes @lovingod786

plz help guys!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What do you think. WHich one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Pick one you think and I will help from there.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it might be either B or C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok in order to isolate x in the first equation. What do you think you first step should be?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

add 2y to both sides?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is B

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ty!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It could be B but it also could be D depending if they want your to get rid of the - sign For instane -x = 2y - 4 and you could use this for a subsitution but if you get ride of the -, which they probably want you to do the answer is D
