Probability

OpenStudy (uri):

ok

OpenStudy (igreen):

I forgot all the simple stuff

OpenStudy (uri):

DID YOU REALLY PAY FOR THIS QUES

OpenStudy (igreen):

No..not really

OpenStudy (igreen):

I got 20 Owlbucks from winning a competition.

OpenStudy (igreen):

I'm using 10 of it on this..

OpenStudy (uri):

Ohh okayy!

OpenStudy (uri):

I know how to solve this question, But idk how to explain you the basics.

OpenStudy (igreen):

LOL

OpenStudy (igreen):

@uri Apparently, they don't care if you give "direct answers" on QH questions..

OpenStudy (uri):

and I don't believe you forgot this

OpenStudy (igreen):

. . .

OpenStudy (uri):

you want direct answer?

OpenStudy (igreen):

If I didn't..I wouldn't have asked it..lol.

OpenStudy (igreen):

No

OpenStudy (uri):

tbh i haven't touched this in like a year on more, but don't mind giving a try?

OpenStudy (igreen):

Sure, try your best :P

OpenStudy (igreen):

I think we do something like 91/404(sophomore) * (171/404)(neutral) - (36/404)

OpenStudy (igreen):

Addition, not multiplication

OpenStudy (uri):

i think the probability the student selected at random and and is sophomore is you add all sophomores together and divide by total

OpenStudy (uri):

and same for neutral and divide by total and multiply them

OpenStudy (igreen):

I got 0.56 for the first one.

OpenStudy (uri):

i want someone to tell me if im right or wrong or close or a bit right lol

OpenStudy (uri):

is it correct?

OpenStudy (igreen):

0.559 actually

OpenStudy (igreen):

I don't know yet..

OpenStudy (igreen):

What do you think? @Vocaloid @Astrophysics

OpenStudy (uri):

u know i used to be a pro at these, lol i got 98/100 in my statistics...

OpenStudy (igreen):

Lol..how the might have fallen :3

OpenStudy (igreen):

Jk :P

OpenStudy (igreen):

mighty*

OpenStudy (uri):

igreen, i got married.. and well i went to europe tour... and things changed?

Vocaloid (vocaloid):

uh, maybe I'm oversimplifying this, but for "sophomore and neutral" wouldn't you just look at the sophomore column, neutral row, which means 36 sophomore and neutral, then divide by the total? (404)

OpenStudy (uri):

voca, thats what i was saying

OpenStudy (igreen):

Ohhhh..lol..I was thinking too much..nvm xD

OpenStudy (uri):

( my english sucks rn after dating a chinese )

OpenStudy (igreen):

113/404 + 63/404 - 10/404 for #2?

OpenStudy (uri):

but i think it will be combination not permutation, okay i think we are right like how u do the deck card ques.

OpenStudy (igreen):

45/404 for #3?

OpenStudy (uri):

igreen, of course you use the same method lol

OpenStudy (igreen):

But the first one says "and" and the 2nd says "or"??

OpenStudy (uri):

OH YES

OpenStudy (uri):

i remember the rulee

OpenStudy (uri):

and = multiple and or is add rightt?

OpenStudy (igreen):

I got 0.054 for the last one..it's easy.

OpenStudy (igreen):

Um..I can't understand you..xD

OpenStudy (igreen):

I think my answers are right..thanks! :P

OpenStudy (uri):

TRY TO UNDERSTAND ME! when it says and it means multiply and when it says or we gotta add!

OpenStudy (igreen):

Ohhh

OpenStudy (igreen):

Multiply and add what? .-.

OpenStudy (uri):

f u

OpenStudy (igreen):

I added for the 2nd one..FORGET IT I GOT THE ANSWERS..xD

OpenStudy (uri):

SOPHMORE OR SATISFIED ^ MEANS YOU ADD

OpenStudy (uri):

SOPHOMORE AND SATISFIED ^ MULTIPLY
