Which sentence correctly explains whether polygons ABCDE and PQRST are similar? They are similar because ABCDE can be mapped onto PQRST by a similarity transformation. The scale factor is 1. They are not similar because ABCDE is congruent to PQRST. They are not similar because their corresponding angle measurements are congruent. They are similar because they have the same set of corresponding side lengths.

OpenStudy (welshfella):

which one do you think it is ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm not sure, I don't even know where to begin to solve this. The tutorials are to hard to understand and don't give you formulas or thorough directions.

Hold up I'll attach the graph

OpenStudy (welshfella):

well similar triangles have the same shape that is the corresponding angles are congruent also corresponding sides are in the same ratio

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think its the bottom one?..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It wasn't (D) - Thanks to my confidence I failed :(

OpenStudy (welshfella):

they are similar but also congruent ( congruent means the same in every respect. To be honest I'm not sure if its a or ( or both!)

OpenStudy (welshfella):

It is A then?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks, You were right. It was (A) :)

OpenStudy (welshfella):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No It's fine. You gave me the right answer and everything I needed to know to understand the problem. I just clicked an answer before that happened.
