Most enslaved people in the South maintained their family histories by including them in call-and-response songs. passing them down to younger family members. breaking the rules and writing them down. combining them with stories from the Bible.

'Call-and-response' These songs helped the slaves synchronize group tasks and made the work of difficult labour easier. Most slaves couldn't write or read, so that one isn't right either. If they passed it down to younger people it could easily be forgotten, doesn't seem to work. I think that the correct answer is : combining them with stories from the bible.
