Graph the function f(x) = − x4 + 7x3 − 9x2 − 3x + 10 using graphing technology and identify for which values of x the graph is decreasing.

OpenStudy (danjs):

did you graph the thing ?

OpenStudy (danjs):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have no idea how.

OpenStudy (danjs):

It says to use a computer. Look where the function has tangent lines with negative slopes...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so would it be x=0 and x=1?

OpenStudy (danjs):

Those are two points that are on a decreasing part of the function.... they are loooking for the entire interval(s)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't uunderstand

OpenStudy (danjs):

For instance, the function is decreasing for x, when -0.14 < X < 1.28

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok. I see, I see.

OpenStudy (danjs):

Is this for calculus 1 or algebra

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you:) Can describe the end behavior of f(x) = 3x32 + 8x2 − 22x + 43.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

calulus 1

Planning to take AP Cal BC next year

OpenStudy (anonymous):

describe the end behavior of f(x) = 3x32 + 8x2 − 22x + 43.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is the answer up on the left, and down on the right?

OpenStudy (danjs):

ok, have you done the first derivative test for increasing/decreasing intervals

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No. Not yet

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i'm doing it at BC and my teacher has no idea what she's doing.
