What is the arc length of a circle that has a 7-centimeter radius and a central angle that is 40 degrees? Round to the nearest hundredth.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(a) 0.70 centimeter (b)4.88 centimeters (c) 7.40 centimeters (d)280.01 centimeters

OpenStudy (misssunshinexxoxo):

Which do you believe it is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm thinking B

OpenStudy (condor34):

Is this Geometry?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Algebra 2, it's near the trigonometry section so it's almost there

OpenStudy (condor34):

The formula u want to use is arc length= central angle/360 *3Pie R

OpenStudy (condor34):

so it would look like this: 40/360*2*pie*7=4.886921905584123

OpenStudy (condor34):

So it would be B.

OpenStudy (condor34):

In the formula i put 3*pie*R i meant 2*pie*R sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I took one lucky guess lol xD it just made sense to be less than 280 but more than 0.70. I just wanted to actually have the work shown to me c: thank you Condor, you'll receive a medal and a fan c:
