Can anyone please help me?! def is a dilation image of abc. what is the scale factor?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And what is the graph?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

um hold on let me try to get it on here.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (jennyrlz):

hello :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hi can you please help me with this problem? ive been stuck on it for what seems like an hour?!

OpenStudy (jennyrlz):

sure :)

OpenStudy (jennyrlz):

these can be scary at first glance, espically when looking at it on a graph

OpenStudy (jennyrlz):

to make it easier lets look at the points :)

OpenStudy (jennyrlz):

the small one has points of, 2,2,4

OpenStudy (jennyrlz):

do you see hwo i got these?

OpenStudy (jennyrlz):

technically it has (-2,2), (2,2), and (-2,4)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes I do :)

OpenStudy (jennyrlz):

ok :)

OpenStudy (jennyrlz):

so the bigger one has points of 4,4,8

OpenStudy (jennyrlz):

now to go from 2->4 2->4 4->8 What do we have to scale by?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

umm to be honest I don't know. all this stuff is confusing lol.

OpenStudy (jennyrlz):

hint: in this scaling we multiply

OpenStudy (jennyrlz):

2 times x =4 2 times x = 4 4 times x =8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so you would multiply by 2?

OpenStudy (jennyrlz):

yup :)

OpenStudy (jennyrlz):

in better words you would scale by 2 :)

OpenStudy (jennyrlz):

Also welcome to openstudy ^.^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so now what do we do?

OpenStudy (jennyrlz):

that was the answer :)

OpenStudy (jennyrlz):

the scale factor is 2

OpenStudy (jennyrlz):

since expanded it means we where multiplying by a whole number

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okay! thank you sooo much for the help! :)

OpenStudy (jennyrlz):

dont forget to medal :)

OpenStudy (jennyrlz):

to medal you hit the "best response button" on the righ tide of the box

OpenStudy (jennyrlz):

fanning just lets you see whne i am online

OpenStudy (jennyrlz):

to fan you hover over my icon and on a pop up window will show

OpenStudy (jennyrlz):

then hit beome fan

OpenStudy (anonymous):

did I do it write?

OpenStudy (jennyrlz):

lastly in the futur if you ahve another question, and i am on, @ me. this pings me and will let me know you requested my help :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay lol and again thank you so much for the help! I really appreciate it! :)

OpenStudy (jennyrlz):

yup wou fanned :)

OpenStudy (jennyrlz):

np :)
