Everything is made up of atoms, all of the elements on the periodic table, everything. In the nucleus of an atom there are protons with a positive charge and neutrons with no charge. The mass of a proton and neutron are about the same, I think it's 1 amu. Outside the nucleus are electrons, with a negative charge and have a very small mass. The electrons are located in orbitals.
