(solve for x)
would i have to do
2x - 3 = 5
+3 +3
2x = 8 =
4=x?
is this how i do it?

@Nick88888888 that's not correct. You don't say what's under the square root. you should use parentheses to indicate when typing it out. I'll show you both possible interpretations and you can see the solution based on your starting problem.
