OpenStudy (anonymous):

point R=(6,4), Q=(4,3), and P=(-2,b) and are collinear. what is the value of b? a) 0 b) 1 c) 2 d) 3

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

collinear means all the points are on the same line so find the equation of the line using the points R(6,4) and Q (4, 3) when you get the equation use the 3rd point P(-2, b) by substituting x = -2 into the equation to find y the value of y, will be b. An alternate solution is to plot the 2 points on the number plane, draw a line through them and see what the y value is when x = -2 hope it helps
