@hankypooh Asexual reproduction is, with very few exceptions, simple cloning. Would clonal reproduction require a mate? Would that slow the processes? Look at extremes, what if the nearest mate to a tiger is 300 miles away, would that make reproduction quick and easy compared to if that tiger could simply make a clone of itself? Again, with a very almost zero exceptions cloning makes exact copies, so what does that do to genetic variation? What would happen if each time an organism cloned itself 1 mutation occurred? What would the 1,000,000,000 offspring be full of?
