Can someone please help me on this question I find it a bit confusing

OpenStudy (just_one_last_goodbye):

Graham sold 6 magazines less than double what Adrianne sold, a. Which of the following expressions represents Graham's sales? A. 6a − 2 B. 2(a − 6) C. a2 − 6 D. 2a − 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So what would represent what Adrianne sold, if she was represented by the variable a

OpenStudy (just_one_last_goodbye):

I think A isn't it since 6 isn't what Adrianne got only graham

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes so double what Adrianne sold means 2a

OpenStudy (just_one_last_goodbye):

so D?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Now what would it mean if Graham sold 6 mags less than 2a

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes

OpenStudy (just_one_last_goodbye):

Thank you so much ^_^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You're welcome. :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A

OpenStudy (just_one_last_goodbye):

A?

OpenStudy (just_one_last_goodbye):

@hafsa23 can you help me with another?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The points earned by each choir team during the All-State Competition are as follows: Choir Choir A Choir B Choir C Choir D Points 129.5 130.1 130.8 129.8 If points are reported by rounding to the nearest whole number, which team has a different score? Choir A Choir B Choir C Choir D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright so we round up by 1 whole number if the decimal is 0.5 or greater. So what would Choir A be when rounded?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And if the decimal is less than 0.5 than the whole number stays the same but the decimal becomes .0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Based on that could you list what Choi A, B, C and D become when rounded?

OpenStudy (just_one_last_goodbye):

Alright lets see 129 130 131 130

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not quite 129.5 also becomes 130 since it has 0.5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So which one is different?

OpenStudy (just_one_last_goodbye):

oh sorry they taught me in second grade to just go back to the begining number

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's fine, that only happens if it is less than 5

OpenStudy (just_one_last_goodbye):

I see so... whats the next step?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Now which choir has a different score?

OpenStudy (just_one_last_goodbye):

first one since the others are in the 30's correct?

OpenStudy (just_one_last_goodbye):

oh wait sorry XD forgot... it is a 30

OpenStudy (just_one_last_goodbye):

so 131? which is Choir c?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, good job!
