The standard equation of a circle with centre (a,b) and radius r is given by: \(\large (x-a)^2+(y-b)^2=r^2\) Compare with the given equation (before translation) and identify the centre of the circle (a,b). If the circle is translated m units to the right, and n units up, then the new centre is (a+m, b+n). For the second problem, look under "5.
