I was weeding a garden bed to prepare it for planting vegetable seeds. These pests eat the leaves and can cause extensive damage to plants. When I looked at the pile of soil that I had turned over, I found two shiny dark-red objects that were motionless. They were oval-shaped and were about the width of a quarter. Upon closer investigation, I discovered two wing-like shapes folded against the body of this mysterious creature.
