A cylinder has a radius of 5 cm and a height of 12 cm. What is the volume of the cylinder? @egbeach

OpenStudy (egbeach):

the formula to find the volume of a cylinder is \[\Pi r ^{2}h\] so just plug in the numbers to solve

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A. 60π cm^3 B. 300π cm^3 C. 720π cm^3 D. 1200π cm^3

OpenStudy (egbeach):

\[5^{2}\times12\Pi \]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

942.48cm³ this is the answer is got but doesn't seem to be an answer choice.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I*

OpenStudy (princeharryyy):

Volume of cylinder = pie * r * r * h

OpenStudy (egbeach):

i got an diffferent answer... 25X12 is what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

300

OpenStudy (princeharryyy):

300*3.14 = 942

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but it's not one of the answer choices

OpenStudy (princeharryyy):

it's correct @pinkbubbles it is 942

OpenStudy (anonymous):

300 is but not 942

OpenStudy (egbeach):

the answers are in the form of pi. dont mulitply the pi out into your answer. 25x12=300. 300pi will be the answer

OpenStudy (princeharryyy):

then they would have written 300*pie

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay Thank You! @egbeach and @princeharryyy

OpenStudy (egbeach):

they did... look at choice B

OpenStudy (princeharryyy):

and wouldn't have actually mutiplied by the value of pie in the expression though both of the answers are right
