let's take a point (3,5)
so that third one moves the point to (3-10,5-3)=(-7,2)
plotting both points:

if you count from (3,5) to (-7,2) how many units down is the point (-7,2) from (3,5)
and if you count to the left of (3,5) how many units is (-7,2) from (3,5)
