6.07 Effective Introduction Worksheet Complete the following steps and your introduction will be written! Writing Prompt: How have these two authors expressed their relationships with nature? After reading and analyzing "The Calypso Borealis," an essay by John Muir, and William Wordsworth's poem "I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud," write an essay in which you describe how each author views nature and answer the question. Support your discussion with evidence from the text. 1. Look back at the list of hook techniques. Which two techniques could you use to introduce your essay effectively?  2. Choose one of those techniques for your HOOK and briefly explain why you chose that technique.  3. Write the HOOK for your essay in the space below. 4. Write a two- to four-sentence BRIDGE to connect your hook and thesis statement. 5. Write your THESIS STATEMENT. Wordsworth and Muir express their deep connection and love with nature using similes and hyperboles to show the reader how much nature had effected their lives. 6. Now, copy and paste the sentences from numbers 3, 4, and 5 (above) into one paragraph in the space below. Congratulations! You have your introduction written!
