Which statement correctly describes a physical change? involves breaking and creating chemical bonds but not changing a phase may involve a change in phase but does not involve a change in the molecular structure may involve converting two or more substances into new substances involves changes at the molecular level involves energy transfer and change in color

Help? ;'(

OpenStudy (taramgrant0543664):

I would think it would be B

OpenStudy (photon336):

I agree with taramgrant Which statement correctly describes a physical change? involves breaking and creating chemical bonds but not changing a phase: Breaking of chemical bonds would would not be a physical change but rather a chemical change. may involve a change in phase but does not involve a change in the molecular structure. I think this is probably the best answer, b/c molecular structure isn't changed. may involve converting two or more substances into new substances; that's basically what happens in a chemical reaction. involves changes at the molecular level; changes at the molecular level would imply a physical change. involves energy transfer and change in color. Change in color yes, but energy transfer not too sure about that.

OpenStudy (marihelenh):

It is B. Anything that changes the molecular structure is chemical.
