5/4 + 7/9

OpenStudy (karatechopper):

Find a common denominator for both.

OpenStudy (karatechopper):

what is a common multiple of 4 and 9?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@karatechopper 36

OpenStudy (karatechopper):

Okay. So we need to multiple 4 by 9 to get 36 and we have to multiply 9 by 4 to get 36. Now do the same to each numerator. Whatever you multiply by the denominator, you multiply to the numerator, the denominator just must be the same.

So 2 1/36?

@karatechopper

OpenStudy (karatechopper):

perfect!

@karatechopper thank you
