i dono how to isolate formulas in physics

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

What do you mean isolate formulas? Do you have an example?

OpenStudy (astrophysics):

You must practice algebra (math) and then you will be able to do physics.

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

If we have: \[\text{speed} = \text{distance}/\text{time}\] To isolate distance in the equation, multiplying both sides of the equation by time \[\text{speed}\times\text{time} = \text{distance}\] Now to isolate time in the equation, dividing both sides of the equation by speed \[\text{time} = \text{distance}/\text{speed}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you must pay attention to sentence structure, then you can do physics. A "formula" is one term in an expression (v_o t , or ½at^2 ). An expression is one side of an equation. Usually, the physics is figuring out what equation is appropriate then use math (algebra) to isolate whatever thing is asked for.
