@iGreen A student earned a grade of 80% on a Math Test that had 20 problems. How many problems on this test did the student answer correctly?

OpenStudy (igreen):

Multiply..

OpenStudy (igreen):

80% * 20 = ?

OpenStudy (igreen):

\(\sf 80\% \rightarrow 0.80\)

OpenStudy (igreen):

Remember, percentages are parts of 100, so to simplify a percentage, just divide it by 100. \(\sf 80\% \rightarrow \dfrac{80}{100} \rightarrow 0.80\)

Oh okay. o.o

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, that's 16. o.o

OpenStudy (igreen):

Yep, that's our answer..the student got 16 questions correct out of 20. To check, divide. \(\sf \dfrac{16}{20} \rightarrow 0.80 \rightarrow 80\%\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohhhh okay. I'm in Summer School for only Math, you make it so easy, for me it just seem really hard..

OpenStudy (igreen):

That's what I'm here for \(\Huge\ddot\smile\)
