in "the boy with the striped pajamas" identify and explain any political, social, economic, or cultural issues that may shape the story.

OpenStudy (samkellogg):

are were talking about the book or the move cuz there pretty different

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The story is set during world war 2 and the holocaust. The Boy wearing "the striped pajamas" is Jewish and in a concentration camp, and the little German boy doesn't understand why. If this story wasn't based around the holocaust it would be a completely different story.

Try to think about these factors while answering the question.

move or book cuz there quit different

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The book

OpenStudy (samkellogg):

okay so in the book they move and he has to leave behind his friends, he starts to explore and finds the consentration camp but thinks its a weird farm and he find the boy Shumal and they became friends he brings Shumal food and tries to play with him but shumal gets scared, he comes home one day and Shumal is shining glasses in the kitchen and he gives him food but the army guy comes in and shumal told him that Bruno said that he was eating it when he came in Bruno's parents hire some guy to teach Bruno and Gretel history and Gretel started to take her dolls out of her room and hang up posters of the world and was marking were the war was the at the end Bruno goes into the consentration camp to help Shumal find his dad and Bruno and Shumal died in the gas chamber

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The innocence of childhood. Bruno and Shmuel share a great deal in common but perhaps what is most striking is the childhood innocence which characterizes both boys. Bruno is unaware that his father is a Nazi commandant and that his home is on ther periphery of Auschwitz. Shmuel, imprisoned in the camp, seems not to understand the severity of his situation. When his father goes missing, Shmuel does not understand that he has gone to the gas chamber.

OpenStudy (samkellogg):
