If the perimeter of the adult pinball machine is 172 inches, what is the length, in inches of Segment line G prime A prime? Answer should be a numerical answer.

OpenStudy (some.random.cool.kid):

@ganeshie8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i found segment GA is 28 inches for the adult

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so i got 11.2 inches as my answer. can you check @iGreen

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the adult size GA is 25 and the smaller one is 10

OpenStudy (igreen):

No..it's not 28. The perimeter is the sum of all the sides. We are given the perimeter, and are missing one side. P = 172 35 + 56 + 56 + x = 172 Find 'x'

OpenStudy (anonymous):

whoops 25 slight error lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oops?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no it's 25

OpenStudy (anonymous):

172-35-56-56=25

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah i just did the math again i dont know how i added 3 at the end

OpenStudy (igreen):

Yes, now we can set up a proportion. \(\sf \dfrac{35}{14} = \dfrac{25}{x}\)

OpenStudy (igreen):

@Venice-Gribbin That's what we just said..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

35x=25*14?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

25*14 i got 350

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 35x=350 so x is 10 thanks guys

good job
