The tactics that Martin Luther King Jr. employed to great effect during the Civil Rights Movement and made famous were civil disobedience and passive resistance. By using these tactics King was able to highlight the oppression of racial segregation, Jim Crow Laws, and the general oppression that was faced by African Americans in the United States at that time.
