Children were often forced to work because
beacause they are children
children were forced to work because there parents either got hurt or couldn't get a job and they got to support their family. Or they are either sold out by their family in the first place as parents are in great need of money.
Children were forced to work due the factor during a certain century children had to work in order to support themselves an there family in which prevented many kids from having a good education which many children were illiterate. Also another reason why children worked was to have a somewhat stable life.
Because they were easier to control than adults and could be payed much less.
Not all children were easily controlled at all... It depends on what time era, but there are some common factors though. Some: -The labor is cheaper than adult pay -Poverty forces children to work for extra income -The country's government turns a blind eye or is unaware of the problem -Parents actually believed that children working at an earlier age would help prepare for the adult work life -Children were sold off by families and worked to get their basic needs covered (clothing, food, shelter), the most prominent example of this was slavery in the U.S. Or from old time eras, children basically became slaves because their country was taken over by another and they had to do the work others didn't want to do (for example, farm). Or from the farmland system of the knights and nobles: They worked from a young age as farmers.
