How many solutions will this system of equations have? x − 2y = 24 3x − 6y = 72 No solution Infinite solutions One solution Two solutions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

second eq. is same except that it is multiplied by 3 so actually there is only one eq. and it has infinite solutions.

OpenStudy (danjs):

same

OpenStudy (danjs):

first is 3 times the second

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So which one is it ?

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

Yes, that makes 3 people agreeing on that answer :-)

OpenStudy (danjs):

how many points are on a line

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm lost please explain what you guys are talking about

OpenStudy (danjs):

The second equation, is just a constant multiple (3) times the first equation.. which makes it the same equation... you have one line in 2 forms one line has an infinite amount of solutions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So infinite is the answer ?

OpenStudy (danjs):

that would be the one
