Why did open study go from being a awesome non-profit website to a wopping 2$ per question?!? That sucks!
OpenStudy was, is and will ALWAYS remain free for everyone :) The OWLBUCKS payment is just to get a qualified help, a fancy term for helpers to give their question a priority.
Ya but that isnt a non profit website no more. and it sucks because if you want some real help from the smart people you have to pay 2 dollars per question. which in my opinion is a rip off. @hartnn
"if you want some real help from the smart people you have to pay " not entirely true, ALL real helpers will help users irrespective of whether its a Qualified help or not. OS was never a non-profit website, it always used to earn from ads, now it also earns from QH questions.
@oleg3321 the QH helpers also help with non-QH questions. And, the site is probably running on servers that cost a lot of money. Therefore, OS needs to offset that costs by placing ads (which scares me because some are videos and they just start :O ) or offering QH for 10 owlbucks ($2 dollars) . I've seen tutoring websites that charge $50-100 for one hour, so it's still a good deal.
