need help :( steps?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

what is the radius of the cylinder..?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

find the radius of the cylinder is the 1st step to finding the height of the cylinder

OpenStudy (briana.img):

@campbell_st yeah it's 7 soo 461.8= 2(49pi) + hpi ???

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

well the surface area formula is \[SA = 2\pi r^2 + 2 \pi r h\] with r = 7 \[461.8 = 2\times \pi \times 7^2 + 2 \times \pi \times 7 \times h\] subtracting the area of the circles from both sides \[461.8 - 98\pi = 14\pi h\] divide both sides by 14 pi \[h = \frac{461.8 - 98\pi}{14\pi}\] now you can calculate the value of h

@campbell_st got 3.4! thanks for the steps i'll look at this next time i need help on it again!

Round[ 3.49968, 0.1] = 3.5
