The diagonal of the base is the hypotenuse of a right triangle. You need to use the Theorem of Pythagoras: \(a^2 + b^2 = c^2\) In your case, use \(l^2 + w^2 = d^2\) Solving for d, you get: \(d = \sqrt{l^2 + w^2} \) Just use the length and width given for \(l\) and \(w\) in the formula above, and calculate \(d\).
