How to find arctan (-1) on a calculator?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I get -45, but that's not an option. "Θ = arctan (-1) = 315°, and Θ = arctan (-1) = (315° - 180°) = 135°. " Did this person convert somehow? Or a different calculator???? so confused

OpenStudy (welshfella):

-45 degrees is equivalent to 360-45 = 315 degrees

thankssss I knew it had to be something simple
