3. Describe what might temporarily increase the frequency of mitosis in a human organ or tissue capable of mitosis?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is moisture supply abiotic or biotic?

OpenStudy (taramgrant0543664):

- The amount of DNA which needs to be replicated and separated. - The number of chromosomes (If there are more chromosomes, it will take longer for them all to line up during metaphase) - The size of the cells and the size of the nucleus These can all increase the rate of mitosis.

@taramgrant0543664 please help!

is moisture supply abiotic or biotic?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so that means if there are less chromosomes then mitosis will be faster?

OpenStudy (taramgrant0543664):

Yes if there are less chromosomes it takes them less time to line up in the metaphase section

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The amount of DNA which needs to be replicated and separated. what does this mean?

OpenStudy (taramgrant0543664):

If the section of DNA needing to replicated is small then it will get replicated faster than a section of DNA that is longer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

- The size of the cells and the size of the nucleus if its smaller then mitosis is faster?

OpenStudy (taramgrant0543664):

Yes smaller is faster as it's easier to replicate

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you so much =D
