Dear Users. I am not a moderator, ambassador or an administrator, but I got an Announcement/REQUEST.

Ok, you adjust your settings in a way that you only accept messages from the people you fanned, and then you message me. (You are then expecting an impossible reply back from me - I won't reply, I am unable!).

Please, if you want to message me and get a good response back, adjust your settings to accept messages from everyone (or else you will have to fan me which is certainly an option, but not something I would ever ask for).

PLEASE think before making any settings how will they impact your site use and interactions with people. THANKS!

Yeah, I agree, I think they should also have a little message before they message others who they aren't fans of, "You will have to fix you settings if you require a message back from this user" or something.

Yes! It is truly annoying when people change their settings to things that non-mods cant respond to and expect a reply back then in the chats they go " you never replied i hate you" So yes people please keep your settings to accept messages from anyone if you want a rely :D

My suggestion a while back. E.mccormick added to it, he came up with an idea where there is a notification of sorts telling the user that the receiver cannot message. :)

I also got this problem. Like I don't mind getting a message, but due to their settings, it was impossible for me to reply back, so what I had to do was to guide the user through the notification settings and have it changed to "people who fanned" so that we could send messages to each other. It took a few minutes for the changes to be set, but I was able to communicate.

lol.... I just don't change my message settings. Anyone can message
me (asides from particular people who have misbehaved towards my
person\(\tiny~~~\)and\(\tiny~~~\)got\(\tiny~~~\)blocked\(\tiny~~~\)for\(\tiny~~~\)a\(\tiny~~~\)quite\(\tiny~~~\)legitimate\(\tiny~~~\)reason).\(\tiny~~~~\)However,
usually, anyone can message or tag me and I will get a notification.....

I definitely agree! Even not being on for a while, this has been an issue as I say and still is. \Sigh\
