the length of a rectangle is equal to three times its width. What is the width of the rectangle if its perimeter is equal to 98 meters?

OpenStudy (danjs):

They gave you two pieces of information... Length = 3*Width Perimeter = 98

OpenStudy (danjs):

Perimeter of rectangle = 2*Length + 2*Width P = 2L + 2W = 98 and L = 3*W

OpenStudy (danjs):

Put in L = 3W into the perimeter equation , and solve for width W
