The simple event is one outcome like if I rolled a dice and got a two that is a simple event and the probability was 1/6 for getting that specific number the odds on a die don't change unless it's a trick one in which case the die doesn't count for this example all other options had an addition or multiplication with a different odd so it is no longer a simple event
