help on equation in comments

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For the parent function \[y=\sqrt[3]{x}\] what effect does a value of h = -6 have on the graph?

OpenStudy (dan815):

where does the h go

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@dan815 i have no idea thats why i'm confused

OpenStudy (dan815):

could you take a screen shot of this question and the question before it, and if theres a graph on either one of them

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@dan815 this is the only question with this equation in it

OpenStudy (dan815):

okay well if i was to take a guess maybe it means \[y= ~~~~^3\sqrt{x} +h\] h=-6 would shift everything down by 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@dan815 okay thank you! i'll try that :)

OpenStudy (dan815):

ok good luck!
