Factor completely: 6x - 18 (1 point) 6(x + 3) 6(x - 3) 6x (-18) Prime Much appriciated!!!

OpenStudy (vera_ewing):

Did you attempt to factor it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes but it didnt make sense so i went through the steps again and i still got confused

OpenStudy (vera_ewing):

What did you get?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i feel like its B

OpenStudy (vera_ewing):

Yes, that's correct! Good job :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks!

OpenStudy (vera_ewing):

You're welcome!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so i just multiply it into the parenthesis right?

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

to check if you have factor correctly, all you have to do is use the distributive property and multiply the 6 6(x-3) 6(x) + 6(-3) 6x-18

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

to factor, we have to take out a common number and we have six because 6x - 6(3) since each term has 6, we pull it out and now it's factored 6(x-3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okay

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

18 = 6 x 3 . that's how I split the 18 up
