there is a faster way to find out the eigenvalues with that equation I posted instead of going and finding all the eigenvalues the long way, but I'm not sure how to do it

I'm super sorry. I just can't figure it out either. I have gone over a couple examples online, but your 3x3 matrix doesn't work out like the other examples' matrixs. I thought I could do it. :( I hope someone else is able to assist you! Best of luck! :)
