How did the railroads contribute to the end of the large buffalo herds? The railroad tracks were obstacles that the buffalo would not cross. The railroads hired buffalo hunters to provide food for their crews. The railroads issued buffalo hides to their workers to use as winter blankets. The cattle that the railroads brought along as food introduced new diseases to the buffalo. Please help
