OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

Find the vertex, y-intercept, x-intercept(if any exist), the graph.

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

I only need the x-intercept p(x)=-x^2 +8x-12

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

-x^2 +8x-12=0 -(x-2)(x-6) -x-2=0 +2 +2 -x=2 x=-2 x-6=0 +6 +6 x=6

OpenStudy (sdfgsdfgs):

One minor error...from -(x-2)(x-6) u should get -(x-2)=0 -x+2=0 x x 2=x the other solution of 6 is correct. good job! if u wanna see how the graph looks like, click the link below: https://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=y%3D-x%5E2+%2B8x-12

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

Okay thank you for explaining that.

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

What about this one-- -x^2-10x+24=0 -(x-12)(x-2)

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

@sdfgsdfgs

OpenStudy (sdfgsdfgs):

look at the 1st - sign: should it be inside or outside the ( ) ?

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

Im honestly not sure.

OpenStudy (sdfgsdfgs):

keep in mind if u pull the - sign out of ( ) then it will go from -x^2-10x+24=0 to -(x^2+10x-24)=0 because if the - goes outside of ( ), then it changes every term inside the ( )

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

Um okay.. So its in the ( )

OpenStudy (sdfgsdfgs):

so plz rewrite it w/ the - sign inside :)

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

K... I already figured it out.

OpenStudy (sdfgsdfgs):

Good job @Destinyyyy ! :)
