Is there a good free site to learn Chinese as a beginner?
你好! There are plenty of wonderful free resources online to study languages, and Chinese is no exception. I recommend you begin with the following YouTube videos, as they helped me back when I was first beginning with the language. They cover pronouns, terms of address, basic greetings, and pronouns. (Part 1) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ubZS7i34GIY (Part 2) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bwq97JhQkcU You can then move on to these, in this order. Each is not longer than three or four minutes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ipKBhp7vIXM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tu2ojGN7VmA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fha-vgG8YOU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-DwpFM0BSw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MPPk1XAgAQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YdXsr6TK_rQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDOaP8LFhcU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2nTYdzSngxw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UwTS0wQ3mAE Once you've gained a basic foundation for the language from those videos, you can look at these sites: http://www.chinaeducenter.com/en/learnchinese/lessons.php http://www.zhongwenred.com/index.htm http://www.chinese-tools.com/chinese/vocabulary https://grammar.chineseboost.com/ One GREAT book you can look into is "Chinese Demystified" (look it up on Amazon). I really recommend it as well, if you're truly serious about learning Chinese. And, of course, you can always ask me here on OpenStudy if you need any help. :) 好运!
