What did Edgar Allan Poe mean when he said a literary piece must create a "unity of effect" on a reader? A. that the effect of all books of one genre be unified by one theme. B. That every character in the piece will be unified by a common dark secret. C. that everyone reading the piece will be unified by an experience. D. That all aspects of the piece should work together to create a certain effect.

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

I'm going to be completely honest with you, I don't know

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

But that doesn't mean I can't help you figure it out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

been googling this thing in so much ways. >_<

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

There are two things that I see that we need to know. What is a literary pieces and what is the unity of effect

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Edgar Allan Poe does poetry work. so a literary piece would be one of his poems or something

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

Well a literary piece is obviously just writing piece, and from Google, I have learned is that a unity of effect is basically to basically decide how he wants the reader to respond emotionally to a writing piece, and how he uses all his creative juices to make sure that effect happens.

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

So what answer basically says, "I'm going to use everything I can, from sarcasm to hyperboles to make sure that this what I write, this awesome book, is going to make this person happy"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

scratch that A or D. typo.

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

I want a definite answer ;3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Same. I'm trying to do a Summer Course from APEX. Deez quizzes are hard. Credit Retrieval.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have No idea what the answer IS

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

I basically told you the answer. The unity of effect is when a writer writes a piece, and he basically uses literary devices, and everything he possibly can to reach an effect, an effect that the reader has. An emotional response!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-.- WHICH LETTER IS IT?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ITS D

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

Yes and btw, I know what you're going through. I'm taking a Summer Course as well. We're in out 6th week(final week, which means finals ._.) and we have two finals this Friday. I've basically learned a years worth of information, in 5weeks. I filled out an entire composition notebook...I only have 3 pages left xD This is our last week and we are just reviewing cuz the final is a big part of our grade, so trust me, I know the stress. This isn't for credit recovering though, it's for advancement.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh yeahhh. I failed this class by 1% and still had to pay $200 for a summer course retrieval. -_-

poetry is where it kills me
